ACCESS POLICIES

The pandemic that started at the end of 2019 brought a great challenge to San Juan de Dios Educational Foundation. Inc. (SJDEFI) particularly in the Library and Multimedia Center. This challenge drives the Library and the Multimedia Center to expand its venue from the physical facilty to on-line accessibility. Hence, LRC Facebook account was created to reach our stakeholders for any services that they may need from the LRC and Multimedia Center.

This has also been the period in the history of the library, that it considers embarking on building on-line resources particularly e-books. In doing so, the Open Educational Resources (OER) were explored and Library e-book collections are developed.

The SJDEFI Librarian surfed for available e-books under Educause and other open source websites and discovered multiple resources in different courses ready for downloading. This has been the start of the growth of the library’s e-books collection.

1. The Multimedia Center prepares and post the video of newly collected e-books.

2. Anyone who would wish to access any of the e-books may send message through facebook, messenger, email or from anyone in the department.

3. The stakeholder may be given the link to the e-book however, if the link does not work, they may request for the downloaded copy.

Computers and Other Equipment

The Multimedia Center has the responsibility to provide maintain and upgrade classroom equipment and desktop computers use for online research need of the students.

Using Internet Search Engines (Google)

Search engines are best used when you have a complex search with several concepts. However, no search site is comprehensive. If you have difficulty finding what you want, try several different search engines. Remember to evaluate your information source for currency, sponsorship (possible bias), credentials of the authors
